Role Overview

As a Specialist – Props at Dubai Media Incorporated, you’ll help bring productions to life through the details that make a set feel authentic, creative, and visually engaging. From sourcing and preparing props to maintaining and managing them throughout a production, you’ll make sure every piece is in the right place, in the right condition, and fits the overall look and feel of the production.

We’re looking for someone with an eye for design, strong visual taste, and a creative mindset — someone who can look at a set and know when something feels right (or when it needs a little something extra). The role is a mix of creativity, craftsmanship, organization, and hands-on problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Source, prepare, maintain, and manage props throughout the entire lifecycle of a production.
  • Ensure every prop is in the correct place, right condition, and matches the creative aesthetic of the stage or screen.
  • Collaborate closely with set designers, production teams, stage managers, costume designers, and technical crews.
  • Manage prop inventories and coordinate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and scenic builders.
  • Oversee the safe handling, transport, and storage of all production materials and assets.
  • Apply hands-on problem-solving and creative craftsmanship during live shoots and rehearsals.

Qualifications & Background

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or High School diploma (depending on relevant technical skills & portfolio).
  • Preferred Background: Coursework or experience in theatre, art, design, woodworking, interior design, or scenic construction.
  • Vocational Skills: Hands-on experience in carpentry, prop making, or scenic construction is a significant plus.
  • Academic Edge: Associate’s degree in theatre production, scenic design, or technical theatre is advantageous.
  • Software & Certifications: Knowledge of CAD or graphic design software is a plus. Safety, First Aid, or CPR certifications are beneficial.
